“I hope you enjoy my work, and it fills your heart with the joy I feel when creating it”

Welcome to Linda Suzuki Art
Art has always been a part of my life but being a professional artist was always a dream that eluded me. After retiring from a fulfilling 30-year career as a high school art teacher, I started to paint for myself and that dream has become a reality. My studio is based in Merritt, BC, in the beautiful Nicola Valley.
My Work
I paint in both acrylic and watercolour focussing on the beautiful landscapes of the BC Interior and Vancouver Island. I also create pieces inspired by my travels with my family. My style is usually more graphic but sometimes I’ll play with abstraction. I try to create colourful pieces incorporating texture, form and movement, sharing the impact I feel from a place.

I always thought when I retired from teaching art, I would just step into a career as an artist, but life has a way of throwing you off your game. After the inability to create art for a year (a story for another day), we parked our RV at Nicola Lake and nature became my respite. I found the skies mesmerizing. The contrasts between the shapes, forms and textures of the landscape spoke to me. The views took hold of my soul giving me a new outlook on the world. I had found my muse and started painting again. I painted how I felt and saw the world around me, a place of beauty, and this is how I paint today.
My Voice

Commission Work
I also do commission work for clients of places they would like to see created in my style. If you are interested in having a commission done, please reach out. I only create a maximum of four commissions per year (less if they are large) as it is important for me to express my own vision.
